Monitor Lizards are a carnivorous genus of lizards. The most well known kind of this species is the Komodo Dragon, the largest lizard in existence. They are usually large reptiles, although some can be as small as 12 centimeters in length. They have long necks, powerful tails and claws, and well-developed limbs. Almost all monitor lizards are carnivorous, although some species are also known to eat fruit. These lizards are also very intelligent, and some species are capable of counting.

Diet Edit

The diet of a Monitor Lizard is anything that it can overpower. This varies depending on region but rodents and insects are a common part of their diet. Some bigger species (like the Komodo Dragon) can even eat large mammals such as pigs and water buffalo.

In Captivity Edit

Monitor Lizards are also kept as pets. The most common pet Monitors are the Savannah Monitor and the Ackie Monitor.
